We slept reasonably well at the
Phu Wanalee Resort.
When we just woke up we hear a lot of noise, it seems to come from the roof of the room.
We look outside and we see a bunch of pigeons walking around on the roof.
The breakfast is mediocre, just like the day before yesterday.
We skipped the coffee.
Today we check out and go back to Bangkok, not via the highway but via the
Khao Yai National Park.
The entrance to the park is quickly found, it is a fifteen-minute drive from the resort.
As usual with national parks in Thailand, Tom pays the main price Thb 400, the car is only
Thb 30 and Pia can enter for free because she is older than 65.
To the park headquarters is a 20 km drive, a winding road that is often quite steep.
There are beautiful viewpoints along the way, warnings everywhere about elephants that we
have not seen, and often monkeys that we have seen.
At the headquarters we look around in a shop, drink good Khao Yai coffee and then see a
suspension bridge over a river.
The bridge turns out to be the start of a 1200 meter walk through the jungle, which we are
going to walk.
The path is more or less asphalted, sometimes steeply uphill, and there are signs with
explanations along the route.
Along the way we meet a large Asian family, including grandma in a wheelchair and grandpa
with a walking stick.
It is brave of these people as the route is not suitable for wheelchair users, the asphalt
is uneven, there are steps and the slopes are sometimes steep.
A nice walk for us, 1200 meters seems short, but with the slopes, the heat and the humidity
(it's not that bad here) it is still quite a stretch.
Back at the headquarters we buy some anti-insect spray in the shop.
We leave the rest of the souvenirs, shirts, caps, hats, stickers, key rings, etc. for what
they are.
We drive further, not the way back but straight ahead towards Prachinburi.
Another winding road with slopes, but now downhill.
On the way we stop at a waterfall, but we don't get close to it because of a path with very
steep slopes.
Then we drive on, the phone shows us the way, sometimes on quite bad roads.
Because Google does not recognize Moue's address, we indicated the airport as the
destination.
Pia makes an appointment on the way to go to the hairdresser tomorrow.
We missed lunch, so we finally arrive near Hua Ta Kee at about four o'clock.
There we drive straight to
Krua Rabiengnaam where we have a tasty meal.
Around eight o'clock we are back at the
family in Lat
Krabang.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
